Demosthenes (384–322 BC) was a prominent Greek statesman and orator of ancient Athens. His speaches constituted a significant expression of contemporary Athenian intellectual prowess and to this day, provide an insight into the politics and culture of ancient Greece during the 4th century BC.

Demosthenes learned rhetoric skills by studying the speeches of previous great orators and his contemporaries. He had great insight and understanding of ones thought processes and showed great wisdom and vision. To this day, his thought provoking quotes are still relevant.

Even though some quotes may have been slightly altered over time to modern meaning and language, they are still relevant and will help you with your own understanding of your own mind and thoughts.
